Welcome to Your Body
About Ellie
My Education
After completing my undergrad, I decided I was not done learning. I was drawn to the wellness industry and felt called to contribute to my community. This ultimately led me to take six months off from my life and complete a massage therapy program in Costa Rica. I attended the Costa Rica School of Massage Therapy, where I learned modalities such as Trigger Point Therapy, Hydrotherapy, Facial Work, Craniosacral Inspired Techniques, Mind-Body Connection Facilitation, and Shiatsu. I was immersed in the world of bodywork. This helped me absorb, reflect, and truly connect to the trade and my own body.
My Story
Hi! My name is Ellie, and I am a woman of many passions! I am a massage therapist, performance artist, entrepreneur, traveler, and forever learner. When I was a child, I endured high anxiety, Tourette Syndrome, and was a sickly baby. These circumstances altered my body and stored tension for years. It was through the power of bodywork that I was able to find relief and gain control of my mental and physical symptoms.
My Goal
I have an approach that is non-invasive. Deep tissue does not always mean deep pressure. I am not only here for pain management, but to facilitate your recovery of self and your in-body experience. I want to ensure that we are working together as a team. No one knows your body better than you. I encourage you to observe yourself on a higher level and advocate for your healing!
Modalities Offered
-
Trigger point therapy is a type of massage focused on identifying and releasing tight knots in muscle tissue known as trigger points. These points can cause localized pain or refer pain to other areas of the body. The therapist applies targeted pressure to these areas to relieve tension, improve mobility, and reduce pain. It's commonly used to treat chronic muscle pain, tension headaches, and injury-related discomfort.
-
Swedish massage is a popular therapeutic massage technique that uses long, gliding strokes, kneading, friction, and tapping to relax muscles and improve circulation. It’s designed to promote overall relaxation, reduce muscle tension, and improve flexibility. This type of massage is often used for stress relief and general wellness.
-
Passive stretching involves gently moving limbs into a stretch without the client actively engaging their muscles. The goal is to increase flexibility, improve range of motion, and reduce muscle tension. This technique is often used alongside massage to enhance relaxation and support recovery.
-
Abdominal massage in a bodywork practice supports digestive health by stimulating peristalsis, reducing bloating, and easing constipation. It can also help release tension held in the core, promote emotional release, and enhance the connection between the body and mind. Additionally, it improve circulation in the abdominal region and can help with menstruation discomfort.
-
Cranial work in massage therapy, often called craniosacral therapy, can help release tension in the head, neck, and spine, promoting deep relaxation and stress relief. It may improve sleep, reduce headaches and migraines, and support nervous system balance.
